Chicago Cubs Lineup (8/24/24): Suzuki RH, Bellinger DH, Imanaga Starting

The Cubs picked up another win last night and now have a chance to ensure a series victory in Miami as they continue to do just enough to keep their playoff odds from collapsing entirely. This is kind of an odd game, at least for me, because it’s in the middle of the afternoon on a day when I’ve got a whole lot going on. My daughter’s 18th birthday is on Monday and my father-in-law turned 73 today, so we’re having dinner to celebrate both. What’s more, my son has a baseball workout and a birthday party to attend.

Oh, we’re also heading to see my dude Joel Cummins and Umphrey’s McGee play tonight. So yeah, cutting this as short as possible. Shota Imanaga is on the bump and the Cubs are facing rookie Valente Bellozo in just his seventh MLB start. He’s been pretty solid despite a 90 mph fastball that doesn’t play up due to minimal extension.

First pitch is at 3:10pm CT on Marquee and 670 The Score.
