Injury Update: Seiya Suzuki Day-to-Day with Right Ankle Soreness
Seiya Suzuki left tonight’s game against the San Diego Padres in the 6th inning after tweaking his ankle running to first base in the 5th. You can see the actual play here, but it didn’t look very serious at the time it happened. In fact, Suzuki came out and played the field in the bottom of the 5th so that alone should tell you it was probably nothing to get too worried over.
Sure enough, David Ross has confirmed that it was nothing major and that Suzuki is day-to-day. That sounds like we definitely won’t see him tomorrow, but perhaps he plays in the weekend series against Arizona. We’ll see and will update you if anything changes.
Seiya Suzuki is day-to-day with the right ankle soreness, Ross said.
Ross was told by trainer it’s “nothing major.” Happened when he hit 1B running out double play. #Cubs
