Chicago Cubs Lineup: Final Game Before Cubs Begin Defense of World Series Title
The final day of Spring Training is upon us and the next game the Cubs play — well, after today — will be the first in defense of their world championship. So load up the DVR and re-watch all those World Series games this weekend to remind yourself just how bad you want that all again.
The Cubs will send out a lineup that is as close to Opening Day projections as you get, sans the designated hitter, which is filled by Kyle Schwarber today.
Miguel Montero is in at catcher, though I expect that Willson Contreras will be behind the dish come Sunday. There’s also the matter of who will start in centerfield between Albert Almora and Jon Jay. My vote goes to Almora, which, have you seen the changes he’s made to his swing?
