Cubs Quick Hits: Kyle Schwarber Feasts on Outside Pitches

I had initially thought Kyle Schwarber particularly liked hitting inside pitches. It’s actually quite the opposite, as the pitches he hits the farthest tend to be on the outside portion of the plate.

The below heat map of War Bear’s isolated power (i.e., slugging percentage minus batting average) shows just how much he likes outside pitches. As a point of reference, average isolated power is usually around .140. Look at all those hot zones on the left side of the plate (from the catcher’s POV).
