Cubs Land Ross! No, Not That One
In what may turn out to be the breaking news for the weekend, the Cubs have landed a much-coveted Ross…to a role in the front office.
Welcome back @D_Ross3!

This is good news, as it gives Grandpa Rossy a way to stay connected to the game while still having plenty of freedom in his schedule to spend time with his young family. And by that I mean his actual kids, not just Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant. I’m not sure exactly what the role entails, but I have to assume it’ll be something like what Ryan Dempster does. Only with no impersonations. So maybe more like Ted Lilly.
In other news regarding guys named Ross you want to see associated with the Cubs, there is at least one as-yet-unsubstantiated report that free-agent pitcher Tyson will be signing…with the Rangers.
Then again, a more recent note from Jon Heyman indicates that no decision has been made. Remember, Dexter Fowler had reportedly signed with Baltimore before showing up in Mesa to rejoin the Cubs.
