Cubs Injury News: Pedro Strop Activated from Disabled List
The Cubs activated Pedro Strop from the disabled list today prior to the start of their game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The move comes after Strop has fully recuperated from arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. That injury happened in a game on August 10 against the Los Angeles Angels.

The Cubs will now be able to utilize the highly anticipated one-two-three punch of Strop, Hector Rondon and Aroldis Chapman. With ten games left in the season, including today’s game, the trio should have enough time to get back into rhythm.
Of course, Chapman has been doing just fine since the Cubs made a trade to acquire him from the New York Yankees back on July 25.
For Hector Rondon, he made a trip to the DL on August 19, just a little over a week after Pedro Strop’s injury. He returned from the DL on September 6 and has given up one run over 4 2/3 innings since being activated.
For Strop, he’s slashing 2.89/2.85/2.59 – ERA/FIP/xFIP for the year.
