#FlyTheW: War Bear Narrates Latest Hype Video
If brevity is indeed the soul of wit, Kyle Schwarber might be the next Al Green. Despite uttering a mere 53 words over 30 seconds, the injured outfielder spoke volumes as he narrated a montage of Cubs fans proudly displaying all manner of W flags.
Schwarber has become the Cubs’ de facto mascot, one that actually wears pants, and you can almost hear the steady lub-dub pulse of the team’s heartbeat in his voice. Or maybe that’s just me. I am, after all, a sucker for these videos. I see generations of fans united in support of a team that has always been about so much more than a hobby or a distraction for so many of us and I just melt.
I’d better pull it together, though, because there are going to be a lot more of these things coming over the next couple weeks.

This is the fabric that brings an entire nation together.
It says to the world, “We will never lose faith. We believe in this team.”
Her generation. His generation. The next generation.
And maybe, this October, if we fly it high enough, and loud enough, and proud enough…
Well, you get the idea.
Damn right, War Bear.
